ANGELO “DOC” MANCUSO CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDACY KICKOFF THIS WEEKEND
(Huntsville, AL) – On Saturday, May 3, 2008, Angelo “Doc” Mancuso will hold his campaign kickoff at Bridge Street Town Centre. He has already formally announced that he is running for the U.S. House of Representatives 5th Congressional District as a Republican in place of Bud Cramer’s vacant seat. This event will begin promptly at 12:00 noon with Dr. Mancuso being present with his family and campaign committee.
Dr. Mancuso served as an Alabama State Representative from 1998 – 2002 helping to improve education and teacher’s salaries, bringing jobs and industry into the area, and supporting the Tort Reform Bill.
Other accomplishments include securing funds for Hospice and Senior Centers, major road projects, low income senior drug prescription programs, high tech classrooms for Athens State University, computers and foreign language programs in school, higher scholarships, public libraries, and Calhoun College Tech School.
His experience includes being one of ten physicians selected nationally to participate in The Healthcare Policy Fellowship and serving as a member of legislative delegation that reviewed the National Guard in Europe and NATO. He was also appointed to the Alabama Historic Commission where he helped in the restoration of the Confederate White House and the Joe Wheeler Plantation.
Dr. Mancuso plans to work for more funding of Redstone Arsenal and Marshall Space Flight Center, bring the Memphis to Atlanta Highway through Huntsville, create new TVA jobs in the Shoals, and support the BRAC initiative for building schools, roads, and infrastructure for the area’s growth.
